Archeotours is willing to take me everywhere I want to go. Any of my UK crew ever heard of them and is 60 pounds about right for hotels in Wales? I can either pay 150 pounds/day (the guide, the petrol and lunch) and pay the hotels myself or pay 230 pounds/day for everything. I should be able to see south Wales along with the north and Anglesey. I need to figure out how much it would cost me over all. Then how much it would cost for a rail pass to London.

It cooled down again. YAY. Yesterday it was 80, Soul wouldn't come out from under the futon. Today it's in the 60's and he's out and playing. Go figure.

I went into the office today to talk to a book publisher (who was uninterested in me trying to order for my class apparently) and ran into the daughter of the man who owned that nice doublewide (He passed in April and his wife is selling it). Turns out she would be my next door neighbor (She's my dean's secretary) which would be nice and turns out I know other people on that street too. However, she agrees that as a double wide it's coming close to its life span (they do unfortunately start having issues within 20 years). She's rather appalled at the 85K price tag (she doesn't think it's worth that much)

ELD wanted to see the yellow house right next door to my building at work. The lady who owns it is old. Secretary thinks i'd have to fight the school for this house. Now might be the time to buddy up to her. Love your house? Hey, I'm a professor here, want to rent me the top floor and I'll help you around the house

Photobucket front view, yes it's old and needs a little work but they take good care of it (well now she does. I haven't seen him in at least a year)

Photobucket Side yard. i'm sitting in the drive to my building at work as i take this. (I would have so far to go to get to my lab...)

three back yard views (You can almost see the shed up next to the house)

The yellow house is pretty from the outside- that color and all the trees...

It's kinda (but not so) Victorian and I love the color in contrast with the trees and grass. Look pretty nice in size too. I have looked at the pics of some of the other houses you have looked at. This one is very nice compared to some of them:)

I've never heard of Archeotours, but that's not surprising because they look like a small company who mostly cater to Americans and Canadians - Brits would likely be driving themselves, or taking trains and cabs if they don't have a car. They seem very reasonably priced, and £60 per night for a hotel is also very reasonable - I would expect to pay £80-100 for an inexpensive hotel.

Are you any closer to knowing some rough dates for your trip? Helen and I are booking some time off for a vacation, probably later in August, so it'd be good to know rough dates soon if you'd like to meet up and/or for me to host you (offer open but it's also cool if you'd rather have your own space).

Wow, pretty. It would be lovely if you could wrangle an apartment there.
