Torrential downpour from the parents' house to Wheeling, then fine all the way to Athens where the downpours picked up again. Otherwise it was a good drive after a rocky start, a nightmare and once again no water.
I don't remember where I was at but I was at home...sort of or at least staying at a place I knew. Kanda was behind me and just ahead of me was another cat. I was very happy because it was Roy kitty. But he kept growling and threatening Kanda and me. That's when it occurred to me that Roy has been gone almost 2 years and I'm sure he's dead.
As soon as my dream self came up with that nugget, Roy looked less whole, less like Roy and way more like he dug his way up out of Stephen King's Pet Cemetery. I had to physical keep him from Kanda and even after I broke Roy's neck, wringing it like a rag, he was STILL growling and trying to kill Kanda. I woke up with a start. THanks brain.
Kanda was SO wound up this time it wasn't funny. He was easy to catch unlike when we left here and I ended up with a 3 inch boob bruise thanks to him. He usually goes to sleep but all the rain against the windshield was too fascinating. He didn't even try to sleep until the last 45 minutes of the trip. He was SO exhausted, he fell asleep on the chair, flat on his back, mouth open, snoring. He didn't even wake up when I took his picture.
SNORE
God that nose is pink
The good news is the house is here, unburned down (timer-lights make me nervous) and unrobed. The bad news is I still live here. Sigh.
tomorrow is the big faculty meeting. Say a prayer for me. I'm gonna need it this semester.
And for no real reason, have a look at my parents' side yard and see what's hanging out there
Two hens and their half grown chicks
turkeys are bright they spotted me and are booking
