The Pittsburgh Zoo
Jul. 2nd, 2008 10:14 pmit's been in the 70's for a week. It's supposed to be in the 70's all this week into the next. Today was ninety-one (yes I hear the AZ brigade that makes up my flist sniggering at me). I was roasting. But in spite of the hot temperatures, we had a good time. I was going to share the album. does anyone know how to make photobucket albums public? This one has a share it to LJ option. I tried it but it needs a guest password but it never lets me provide one...
So i'll give you my highlights.
A big fat bear, no really look for it
took the picture of the Gibbons then saw, oh great…damn males. Can’t keep their hands off it
sea dragon
sea dragon, i think they're cool
one of my favorite pictures
sea horse
I think he’s considering me for lunch
polar bears
one of my favorite critters, sea otters
snow leopard
Amur Tiger
babyTiger
Zebra
elephant
hi, how are you
a gibbon missing her arm
my one complaint and I know it sounds bad, people with infants in strollers. One, I just don't think it's healthy to have an infant out in that direct sun for hours. Secondly those strollers are hazards. People were tripping everywhere. They took up huge gobs of space and I'm thinking a kid in a stroller is pretty much too young to remember anything.
One the other hand many parents had kids with monkey backpacks where the tail is a leash. I thought those were the coolest thing ever
Oh and the zoo really has a nice aquarium in it. I was impressed. I got a lot of great shots in there
