Sep. 23rd, 2011 09:59 pmand Kanda has been taken care of. The vet kept saying 'wow, he's your buddy' because poor Kanda was trying to meld with my skin. I got him more antibiotics and had his neck shaved. The wound naturally is half healed by now but it IS three weeks out so it's very slow to heal. We talked about Soul. She's never heard of a cat pooping outside of the box to mark territory. She agrees he may be insane. After the porch incident she thinks he wouldn't fair well in her barn but worse comes to worse that's where he's going. As for Kanda he had to have vaccines too so he's pretty upset. He's all head down and refusing to look at me or the others. I guess if someone shaved me and jammed 3 needles into my back fat I wouldn't be having the best day either.
I'm rereading Fahrenheit 451 for banned book week. I'll be reading it on video (if I get a link, I'll share). Reread, ha. It's been nearly 30 years since I've read it and I barely remember it (besides it's creepy opening line). Speaking of creepy, this book brings it, especially now. Bradbury predicted our world. This was published in '53. Montag's wife, like most of the population, doesn't interact with the world anymore. They sit in their parlors interacting with the people on the tv screens. They're each others friends and family. Look at what you're doing right now, staring at a screen talking to your friends and family while others are out there trying to restrict access to knowledge and ideas. Yeah...creepy.
in my nursing class, I have one lone h.s. teacher wannabe and she approached me in the other class she has with me (she needs the human phys because she needs one more 400 level biology before her student teaching starts) and she was horrified at how horrible my students are, facebooking, talking, tweeting etc in class. I'm like y ep, I know and next week, I hand them their tests along with their heads.
( day 300+ another 2 fer, Kanda's shame and Craigdarroch continues )
