I noticed a strange smell in my office but didn't think too much of it. Later I smelled it again, sharp, acrid. I thought well ibrought basil into the office since the first frost can't be too far away. I thought maybe the cat peed on it outside. I bent down to see and smelled it. it was coming from the solar panel controls which are in my office. It was hotter than holy hell. Last I saw was the maintenance people going 'what happens if I turn off the solar panel?' I have no clue. I grabbed the bag of tenure paperwork I've been saving for 6 years. If the rest burns, it burns.
I had to rush off to see the doc. she agrees, I need scoped again for my stomach. she did give me a pain killer for my shoulder (I like this woman because she knows what I am, respects what I suggest and I can usually get what i want) and gave me a new pill for my migraines that I have to try for the generic name alone, Rizatriptan. I do have to look up its pharmacokinetics and side effects though. She asked to see how i could use my arm. I showed her. O_o how do you get your bra on?
Can i just say this to ALL the people wanting to go into the health care field. Medicine, hospitals especially, are highly conservative. Keep in mind you're working at least for the next 20 years people who were born/raised in the 30-50's. They are not used to everyone having casual tattoos and MANY hospitals will not let you come to work with exposed tattoos (ditto the police and military and NO they will not make an exception for you). For the love of all that's holy DO NOT TATTOO YOUR FACE. One of my girls came into with stars tattooed on her cheek outlining her eye. Granted I don't suspect she's going to pass but my god, do you think for one minute about the job you're trying for. I DID. I wanted my nose pierced in the worst way and cartilage piercings when I was youngbut I knew what I wanted to go into. Hell they had a fit over my hair dye. I never would have gotten in with a nose ring. (which in some ways might be wrong but that's how it is in the real world)
