cornerofmadness: (death by books)
First off how the hell is it MARCH already??? You guys know my usual riff. Talk to me about my books and dvds. I love chatting about them.

First off, I'm hostess Grace R. Duncan in my writing blog. You can find it here. Come on over. It helps me cement my own ties in the publishing world and hey you can win free stuff! If nothing else go drool over that cover.

Secondly, I finished my own edits for my Scarred Soldier novel. Now I'm just waiting on one last set of edits so I can send this off. In the mean time I'm going to work on the synopsis. Would anyone be willing to read it over?

Thirdly, my local nano group wants to do the very early (i.e. April) Camp Nano as a group. I say yes to that with a caveat. I'm NOT trying to get 50K. I'm too busy with dual research projects, tweaking two classes and writing that paper for publication to honestly do that in April. That said I WILL be dragging out 2012's nano and working toward actually finishing it. Wish me luck.

I'm feeling a little blue about the writing in some respects though. I was remembering the 1990's to [livejournal.com profile] wildrider earlier and to be honest, I still had growing into my writing to do BUT at the time I was too busy starting my medical practice which deserved every moment of time it got. Of course most of my days were 12-14 hours long so that didn't allow for a lot of writing time. Still, I was oddly creative then doing things no one else did. Yes I wrote vampires a lot but other things you didn't see much like psychic detectives (I was ridiculed for it actually), Nephilim, demons/angels. Now they're everywhere. I just opened up an email to see someone with a book called Cambion (which looks good). I was writing that right now (Gideon's story for those of you on my original fiction filter). hell I didn't even know that the word 'cambion' was that well known. Sigh.

But still yay, novel progress. Must focus on that.

And guys, I'm working on a presentation for the LGBT club on campus on YA queer lit. I need some suggestions for publishing lines. I know Harmony Ink (Dreamspinners), Budding Moon Press (Storm Moon's) & Silver Stream Press (Silver's). Anyonw know any others?

And no new internet for me. They had an 'emergency' and will be here tomorrow. Gah.

Declutter Day 40 Item tossed -Watering can why kept-Needed it for garden why tossed -Dog chewed holes in the handle (only a year after I bought a new one....)
