Purple and Pink
Nov. 2nd, 2013 12:05 amIt was a busy day. After work I headed into Athens for the Nano kick off and to the Women of Appalachia art show on OU's campus. One of my local friends had three of her fiber works in the show. It was sort of funny. We're standing in the gallery, me with purple hair and her with cotton candy pink, personal works of art.
There was a lady's work that I was captivated by, Janet Martin I think was her name and she worked in clay. She had two statues, Heyokah's daughter and one of Heyokah and I was just surprised and happy that someone knew of that Native American trickster.
It was also very cool to see so many new people at our local nano write in. Some are OU students, others not. I actually got writing done. Word wars do that for me. I'm competitive so...
I'll be back later to put up my nano score but right now I'm getting back into pasting together my steampunk novella. I'm going to need lots of help making sure I have all the names sorted out and the time line right since it will require some juggling.

I do love Patrick Stewart!

Neil Patrick Harris and his family are disgustingly cute.
Speaking of disgustingly cute have a 2 year old girl cosplaying all 11 Doctors
ETA
Howell Killingsworth watched the parade of sad, scarred faces as the passengers of the Orphan Train were disembarked only to be herded into trucks headed for Gladwell House. Such a reassuring name for an inherently melancholy place, he thought. It was his destination as well. Nano snippet.
