I'm never to make a writerly ways post it seems. I lost power around 7ish tonight and it just came back on around 11:30. Of course I thought it was later because the wall clock I set yesterday was set an hour fast (way to go. I had wondered how it had taken me so long to finish my book).

If I DO buy a house, it needs to have a wood burner. It was getting cold in here so thinking it was midnight I put on the thermal PJs I keep for this purpose, get into that memory foam bed with the heavy thermal sheets and the blankets AND put on socks and a blanket over my head so I wouldn't get cold. I was lying there thinking, 'okay this is insane. I'm ROASTING.' And then the power came on and I see why I wasn't tired. Oops. I'm very grateful Buckeye Rural got it restored so fast (last ice storm it took a week). I think it must be warmer outside than it was supposed to be because I'm not so sure it is an ice storm. It sounds like pure rain but still what a miserable night to be out in.

At least I had the huge crockpot of bean soup to keep warm with (but had developed GI issues even before I ate it because nothing says fun like the runs in the pitch black, thanks for that, life.)

Mom had called earlier, a friend of the family (well more a friend of Lucky Uncle, they've been neighbors at the lake house for 20 odd years) lost their son today in a snowmobile accident. Yeah, 2015 you bite so far.

And I've had just about enough of people who literally have nothing to say but negatives on every post they see (more on FB than here). I have a couple of them like that. I could post baby kittens and they'd find a way to make a negative comment (because they literally did it last week). One I think doesn't realize how negative she is (and this is coming from me who is pretty negative myself) and the other I'm sure does it because she likes it (more of a friend of a friend, which makes it harder. If she was just my friend I could delete without having to explain why and putting other friends in the middle).
