Started with the landlord showing up at 10 AM to fix the hot water tank. Luckily I don't work fridays in the summer. He and his buddy come to fix it. The element was so corroded that it was bent. And then Tom asks me 'why don't you have a washer/dryer?' Because like EVERY other time you've asked me it's because you made the closet too fucking small to fit them and too short for a stackable.' The hot water goes all over the floor because dumb ass forgets to use the channel locks and burns his hand. Then he decides to change the filter on the heat/ac pump system and of course the screen is a mess because I clean it when I change it and he hasn't given me one in three months. He makes me wash it in the tub (because I have nothing better to do than scrub that tub out afterward). Then he makes a snide ass comment if this was his place he'd just put the dumpster outside my front door and throw everything out. How about you go fuck yourself? I know it's a mess. I don't need your commentary.

Now I'm late to go do the laundry and have to rush to make it through that before going for my ultrasound on those breast lumps. I get there and a) Holzer has made the appt at the WRONG Holzer clinic 30 miles away. b) has lost my doctor's orders. Because you know this isn't stressful enough as is even though I'm pretty sure it's nothing but fibroids. Finally they do take me in anyhow and yeah she sees nothing much and decides to do the whole breast just in case. I might wait until I get back later in August and go to a specialist in Columbus anyhow given how painful these ones are.

I get the coming soon page announcement for Soldiers of the Sun and realize a few things. A) I've shot myself in the foot with this whole series thing. It's a stand alone novel now marked 'book three' B) Nowhere on the page does it link to #1 &2 or even say WHAT they are. Yes there's the whole 'more by Jana' thing but that doesn't really help!! C) The release day is already taken by someone on our promo service. I decided to schedule it a day early. They can always preorder the damn thing. Otherwise it's the weekend and those are terrible days to promo as is a monday. I'd rather not wait a week since the first week is the most important.

Even Kanda is having a terrible day. He wants loved so much but he's terrorized by sneezing. My allergies are so bad the ultrasound tech probably thought I was worried/crying because my eyes are so red-rimmed and swollen. I sneezed every time Kanda tried to come over. Sorry buddy.

Talked to Dad tonight. Oddly enough he thought I was wrong in not getting a hotel room in Columbus and spending MORE time at the Irish festival tomorrow. That was not what I expected but I'm going to save that for another time when I'm more sure what I'll be making since I still do not know the answer to that.

Ironically the last day of the Radical Self love July meme is 'why am I rad?' I'm rad because I'm unapologetically geeky. Even when it cost me a lot (looking at you high school), I stayed true to my geeky self. I'm very intelligent and that's not me bragging. I really am. I'm rad because I like to read and garden. I like to hike and swim and if I can combine those, all the better. I'm rad because I can quote Star Wars, Star Trek, X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and any number of comic books, anime and manga. I'm rad because I like helping people. I'm rad because I'm a cat magnet and cats are awesome. I'm rad because I'm creative. I play music, I make jewelry but most importantly, I write. I am the creator of worlds. I create things that people enjoy and want more of. I am rad because I am ME!
