Ah anterograde amensia
Dec. 11th, 2015 12:00 amThank god I only had to sit and let students test today because I felt more out of it and hung over from the anesthesia today than I did yesterday. I was worthless, without appetite and the first thing two coworkers said was "OMG you're yellow."
Great. Guess my liver did not like that medication. I didn't think I looked yellow but I felt green. The back of my throat feels bruised as hell. And seriously I'm not remembering anything anyone tells me.
Testing lasted literally all day and I have to in tomorrow on an off day to do a make up exam for the soccer players (we won the national title though).
Then I wanted to go home but it was the Christmas party. I had dressed for that. Since it was only a half hour to go once my test was over my coworkers talked me into it. I thought okay go get a few snacks and go the fuck home and collapse.
Well it was food around the world (to celebrate places our students come from which was nice). Italian meatballs, southwest eggrolls, general tso's chicken, two kinds of stilton cheese on the cheese board, empanadas (which I tried in spite of not liking ground beef much but they were good), Dutch apple pastries, canadian 'beaver tail pastries' (too tough) some spiced cake from Argentina, Brazilian chocolate balls, welsh cakes (which comprised most of my dinner).
I stayed my half hour and went to leave right when the provost sat down with me. Yeah felt I needed to stay then.
I did see the coworker who took me yesterday. She started laughing before I even asked 'so what did the doctor really say?' Apparently he and I had a long conversation about the surgery I need to fix my stomach and all my fears about it (she said I was very knowledgable and talking at his level), about changing my life style (which I refused to give up caffeine) and then as he left we talked about that Ancillary Justice book.
I remember NONE of this. Versed gives you anterograde amensia. I know this but it's stunning how profound the memory loss is. At least I sounded intelligent (last time when ELD took me I got into an argument with the doctor and was yelling at people apparently).
I apparently came home and graded and exam like that because it was done this morning. Oh boy....
I also guided the coworker back home better than the Prius's GPS. I'm good with directions....
Kanda got into a mood this morning and bit me, drawing blood. He's not going to be happy until I have the flesh eating bacteria.
Maggie Stiefvater’s art is on sale only to midnight (sorry). I DID buy the Raven's Boys art print (and T-shirt and apparently I bought shit on Roaman's last night too. THe things I do while out of my head). I still want to buy the last book with the art doodle print in it.
