So I got up early and made a phone call because my insurance thinks it knows better than my doctor what pills I should be taking. In theory the doctor had called them and gotten 2 pills a day okayed but CVS couldn't put it through. I have to repeat my ID number and Birthday a hundred times, the fucking computer answering machine can't figure it out. I have an accent but nothing that would hinder that and I am LOUD. Finally 15 minutes of fighting with that machine (seriously, any company using one should be barred from life), I get someone. She can't find me in the system. After wrangling for five minutes, we realize this is the mail order drug company that works with my insurance. We get me back to them (and I see where I could have just called them hidden in tiny print on the back of my card where anyone needing this many pills would be too presbyoptic to see it). Miranda informs me that the pharmacy is at fault because they are trying to send thru the Brand name and not the generic. I tell them I don't think there IS a generic, the pill's too new. SHe insists there is. I'm betting she's looking at the generic name it will eventually have.

She insists I call CVS. I do. Sure enough I'm write and the insurance company is staffed by twits. I call back, go through the fucking computer again, get to a live person and they take my info again (so WHY have the machine ask?) then this is just a human version of the machine and she has to send me to a customer service rep!?! I talk to him, explaining the idiocy of his counterpart (by name) and he says it should go through. He put it through and it works.

I call CVS and they check what he did and he's ignoring the 2 times a day. I give THEM the number and say you duke it out. You're the pharmacy you know what the computer needs to say. They did succeed where I failed.

Today was relatively amusing at work. I was busy using my desk to portion out my big bags of herbs into small snack bag sizes. I got called away and left the door option. JM, who is working with me on this project (okay more like I work for him) saw it and says looks like I have a dope operation in full swing. It did.

Then I got home and called 1 touch the company I want to use to replace Verizon but they are NOT impressing me. They were supposed to call me back last week. Never did. I left more messages nothing. Then it occurs to me that the landlord might have given me the guy's private # and he's not happy. I call the 1888 number and it's a live person (huzzah!) but she seems confused by the fact that no one has called me back and takes my number. We'll call you back. They did not. GAH. I DO NOT want to get a 4 G device from Verizon (the only way I can get more gigabytes) and another 2 year contract. I DID call a couple other local internet providers but dial up is all they have for my area. WAAH

declutter day 36 item tossed-Random bag of crap from the car why kept -Brought in when I cleaned out the car and somehow it ended up under a chair why tossed -It was crap from a trip to IN in 2010 no need to keep anything but the map.

Snickering at your drug operation in your professor's office.

Ugh to the customer 'care' you had. Just ugh.

1 Touch sounds annoying, too. *sigh*

I understand your frustration with the insurance company. I'd rather eat dirt than deal with mine. I'm still arguing about being charged for an unauthorized visit when I saw my doctor's partner because my doctor wasn't in.

I hate insurance companies. They are the devil's representatives on earth. I'm positive.

I do not argue that at all. I hated them from the other side of the table too. They almost never pay doctors the right amount and often take up to 6 months to pay

I used to work health insurance. Doctors office staff *should* have done all that calling - if not the CVS should have. Memebers should NEVER have to deal with that crap. Ever.

Mind you I worked in a not for profit Medicare + choice plan in MA (where they are fussy about such things) and have been dissapointed with my PA/DE insurance co. They hate me bacause I will call up and say "I used to be your boss" when they screw up.

When I was a doctor who saw patients (as opposed to the doctor I am now) I had to deal with this all the time. Let's just say my CVS is inept. Seriously. If you don't do stuff yourself you don't get much done

I also have to remind myself that not all insurance co.s aren't like the one I worked for, and I never handeled drug stuff. It drives me *nuts* when an insurance provider/ Medical provider/ pharmacy drop the ball on people. You shouldn't have to do it yourself *sigh*

I sound like an old bitty "in *my* day..."
