Happy St. David’s Day

I was asked to attend again. In some ways I really don't want to. For one, even as old as I am, I'm a baby compared to the people attending this thing and they stare at me more hostile than friendly, let me tell you. It's definitely a who is this interloper stare. And since i had to do laundry AND grocery shop before the ice storm from hell I wasn't pleased with having to go. I decided since I'm STILL not done with my damn paper from last year, I better go and keep them happy. At least they paid for the meal.
Which was less yucky than last time. There was fried chicken and green beans that tasted like a piece of fish fell into it (blech) It wasn't exactly a great selling point for the Wounded Goose which is a local place I wanted to try. I want to less now.
I ended up siting next to the wife of one of the student relations administrators like I did last year and some old teacher who wouldn't shut the hell up and BOY did wifey take objection to the teacher telling wifey's daughter-in-law about when she had the woman's twin aunts in class and they were bad (Personally I thought it was funny but wifey nearly had kittens). Daughter in law's daughter was singing in the Madog youth choir but man they could have left daughter in law at home. She didn't even try to hide how bored she was. It was more embarrrassing than the teacher's story.
I did want to hear the speaker who was talking about the small town Myndd Bach that she's from (I know I just spelled that wrong) and how 6 families settled in Jackson/Gallia. I love history so that was fun. I could have done without the over hour of singing. First the youth choir sang then we ALL did. Now, I understand that an Eisteddfod is part of the celebration and that the Welsh are known for this but it was ALL hymns. Yes, yes it's a religious holiday kinda. But couldn't we have sung other Welsh songs too or just have the kids sing? You know what's worse than me trying to hold a conversation in Welsh? Me singing.
I AM interested in the Eisteddfod that the school is holiday at Bob Evans in May. Wonders if I can do a tiny short story with those two Welsh boys I did for that anthology that will make them just look like friends....
I had a migraine when I started the day so I took just ONE pill but my god it's been burning my stomach for almost 8 hours now. It can stop.
I did get the clothes washed and food bought. Not all that much food. I have plenty from my usual hoarding any how. thank god I normally hoard paper products too because there wasn't a damn roll of toilet paper left. I also got the bright idea to buy a large pizza. I like it cold and there's enough there for at least three days if i lose power. I even bought lunch meat for the same reason. I rarely eat that stuff.
And if you don't hear from me I lost power. I can handle the bad weather but man say a prayer or light a candle (ha) for my power. I even bough a flameless battery operated one. Tis pretty and might come in handy though i DID forget to get another lighter. I have one.
And let's just hope they're wrong about this storm for everyone. Honestly I could handle the 8-12 inches of snow it's the 1-3 inches of ice that scares me.
I got some more cds in the mail today (as if I needed more and yes I know I know, download but i hate how the computer organizes them).
ETA - I’m on Tempeste O’Riley’s blog come see me there.

You should make that taco soup I posted about the other day. It's yummy. Better the second day, too.
