I totally agree with that. The gluten free diet is all the rage now, and honestly I'm not sure it's really healthy if the person doesn't have a specific need to avoid gluten. I've found that staying lower carb is better for me because I'm insulin resistant, but as far a weight loss, I am learning that I just have to eat less. It doesn't matter so much what I eat as long as I don't indulge in too much on my plate (which is often my temptation because I do like to eat LOL.) If there is less on my plate I also tend to eat slower and enjoy it more.
Did you see the study this guy did where all he ate was twinkies? He carefully worked out the caloric intake and lost weight on the Twinkie diet. He doesn't recommend it. He was just trying to prove a point. Obviously it wouldn't be a good choice for either of us, but I find I'm okay if I get a Rice Crispy Treat once in a while. They only have 150 calories.
