I feel like I've slacked off

On everything. I even forgot my flash drive today. Thankfully I had my lectures on my work computer and the lab-only flash drives there but that didn't help me when I had no rough draft of my test to print out. Sigh.
I friended one comicbook house on twitter and suddenly I'm flooded by them but two of note you might want to check out: @EmetComics which is trying to be a female-run comic book publisher and @NewWorldsComics which offered up a free comic for new followers.
I need to get moving on my damn vampires in vegas. That is not a news flash.
I spent a half hour arguing with my book club again who insisted a) my address was right in spite of the fact they just sent something to Mom's house with her name and city/state but with MY street address (which to be fair is what the post office told them to do last June). TEN months and it's not fixed yet. Really, how fucking hard is it to fix my address? and b) I'm on email only subscription and that I HAD to be the one who did it because they can't. I called bullshit. I have crap internet. I can't really look at catalogs here. I hate online shopping. If I can't hold it in my hand I usually don't look.
geeky bars
recipes for Easter Brunch These sound yummy. Well most of them. Check them out. I'm not entirely sure how I ended up on a high-end chef recipe of the day list but I'm enjoying it.
And check out these recipes for Passover The first is Andrew Zimmern's matzoh-ball soup. I do have a question though for my Jewish friends, (just curious, not trying to be insensitive or anything) where exactly do you get the schmaltz? I know what it is but I was wondering is it just scraped off the chicken before it's boiled into stock or are there jars of fat running around? I was going to try this probably with the veggie oil, though there's probably enough fat on that rotissiere chicken to make this...) I couldn't however find matzoh meal because I'm fairly sure Jews are considered as mythic as the unicorn here (seriously there's not a synagog within 40 miles of here).
And for Music Monday, let's stray into a third religion, druidism. It's not secret I love Damh the Bard. I listen to his music a lot and I listen to his druid podcasts. His new album Sabbat comes out tomorrow. You can see more about that here
I've shared his work before and wanted to share its diversity again today.
He has several that retell the old legends. I know I've shared this one before but it's one of my favorites.
Other songs are far more light-hearted than the gruesome Twa Corbies, like this celebration of the mystical side of life.
But most of his songs are spiritual and pagan in nature.

He also does some of the more ancient songs like this one.
If you are unfamiliar with Twa Corbies (Three Ravens in England) you can read more here. Wiki dates it to 1611 but if I remember my SCA right, it's older (wiki suggests it might be). I'm pretty sure it's full-on medieval.
He does have more light hearted mystical ones than the rather gruesome Twa Corbies such as this.
But most of his are spiritual, specifically pagan.
The Cauldron Born could be an anthem for just about any pagan group be it druid, wicca, norse etc.
or for a specific god/goddess like the Morrighan.
or the importance of the solstices in the pagan religion.
and the wicker man
and one I think I shared before but it seems relevant now, a confrontation between Cernunous/Herne/Pan and a Christian priest and the intolerance that the priest displays. With people running around using their religion as a battering ram this seems apropos. It's a shame all the good and decent Christians out there are getting lumped in with the ones using religion to push hate.
