Today sucked but tonight was good.

Only EIGHT students showed up all day as if they thought we were closed for Veteran's Day. But I had an evaluation today so it's my dept chair, me and 4 students....who couldn't remember anything. I was so embarrassed.

Tonight we all went out for beer and pizza and our hangout was plagued with a lousy waitress but now carried Yeungling beer including black and tans. I stocked up some of those in my hump then went to see Prince Madog a play put on on campus written by an English prof and acted by our students. It was basically the idea that Madog came to America and intermarried into the native tribes. It was entertaining enough though the wigwam collapsed on the boys while they were trying to do a scene under it.

Snippet of the day - Archana abandoned her chair and sat next to Sverre.

“I wanted to say thank you for getting me to the city and I'm sorry you're going to be put through so much trouble because you helped me,” She said.

“I said from the moment I saw you, you'd be nothing but trouble so I can't say I'm entirely surprised to find myself on a train to somewhere I don't even know.” He turned his gaze out the window. “Sometimes I hate being right.”

“Do you ever not say what you're thinking?” Archana asked and his sister snorted.

“Always expected my brother to be rude.”

or at least my immune system is. I felt fine all day. I did the laundry, scrubbed the floor, worked over a test (and suddenly it was dinner time and I had written nothing)

Had dinner then felt suddenly exhausted, with a weird feeling in my throat, not sore, more like that feeling where yuo know nothing is going to taste good, I have a slight cough and am nauseated. whines.

putting the mouse into the netbook has not made things noticably easier to do. sigh.

Mom DID manage to get my uncle his mass AND a veteran's honors guard. That nephew was so fucking cheap with my uncle's money (which he's getting all of) that he didn't even have a tent or chairs graveside. Lucky Uncle was pissed because the casino saw the obit and sent a floral arrangement. On one hand, they were trying to be very thoughtful, on the other hand it's a CASINO and that just says hey big spender sorry for your loss. Persnally I just would have pulled the card out and feigned ignorance.

I'm not getting anywhere the last three days. omg

barely HAD a snippet of the day - Sverre waited until she was gone before stirring in the lumps of sugar she had given him, steadying it with his hand while using his hooks to hold the spoon. He'd never had sugar for his tea before, a little honey certainly but processed sugar was something his grandfather might have brought into the house but that was a few life times and a war ago. The sweetness of the strong tea woke up his tongue. “Mmm, this is good.”
