They drift off and you never hear from them again. We found out that a cousin died last week. He was about 15 years older than me. He was cutting grass when the tractor rolled and crushed him to death. We just heard about it today. I mentioned it on facebook. My cousins didn't even know his name. I think I met him twice. Mom was surprised I remembered him but who can forget someone who was in the Catholic seminar but dropped out and ended up a homicide detective. He gave my brother a switchblade and me some other knife. That is all I remember. I'd be more affected if one of my flist died than this cousin. Interesting how you can be a stranger to your own family (of course some of us would prefer that)
Called the travel agent to get this Wales trip rolling. No answer, no call back.
emailed the realtor about which houses might be worth the seeing. Mom will be here tomorrow.
I got all excited for nothing. I have several boxes of books coming (because this is what I do when I'm depressed) My asshole mail carrier won't bring boxes. I fly to the post office, excited to get my books. Turned out it was my diabetic supplies. Well hell. I did say hey I'm HOME from work, can they deliever the damn boxes? yes. Let's see if these dimwits do it.
I swept and mopped the kitchen. Now THERE is an activity my arm hates. I had to put the tens unit on twice and I'm gearing up for a third time. And I tried to do the litter/storage closet fast so not to upset Soul too much. I notice that the second rubber container down on the pile looked wet but the one above it wasn't. I thought maybe I had a leak in the ceiling and it was pouring today. Looked up, no leak. Looked at cleaning supplies, no leak. There was a fungicide/mite cide spray for the garden and I thought well maybe this is it. It didn't look broken. So I go to clean it up and it won't absorb into paper toilets. It's oily. I might as well have been sponging up mercury. good lord. then I got some on me and it BURNED. I was afraid to put a chemical cleaner on it since i had no idea what chemical was in the spill. I settled for dishwashing soap which did allow for me to clean it not before I spilled some on the floor. Also, soft scrub can go bad. Who knew?
Okay going to drink a bloody mary enhanced with all sorts of Aryuvedic spices. THat makes it health food, right?

In GREAT writing news
May. 29th, 2012 11:13 pmMy novella will be released tomorrow! I am so excited. Check it out. purchase me here (feel free to share link with anyone you'd think would like it)
The Darkest Midnight in December is the prequel to my stories Snowbound which was in the anthology Necking and A Brief Respite which was given out as Halloween candy last October. It's set in the Pittsburgh area in the 1930's, with one key difference: everyone knows demons are real and demon hunting organizations exist to keep the populace safe. Caleb, Temple, Agni and Li are all Soldiers of the Sun, risking life and limb to protect the innocent from the demons.
And I love the cover. It's by Shobana Appavu. Here it is close up.

It's gorgeous. I couldn't be happier.
To celebrate, I'm going to give away a few free review copies to my friends. The only thing I ask is for you put up a review on goodreads (and elsewhere).
Also I can make available two of my short stories Mysterious Spirit (fantasy, m/m, mild bdsm) and Crisis in Faith (vampires in Vegas) with the same request and the anthology Necking that contains the follow up story to the novella.
Come celebrate with me!
