I didn't do much. Tomorrow, we're going to the casino.

Mostly what I did today was go to Grandma's house and clean up some more of my stuff in the basement. It's really ridiculous it's still there. I have a half dozen of those big plastic containers filled with books, dozens of tapes (VHS and audio, tossed out the former), and then I found boxes of knick knacks and story boxes. What I did was decide what knick knacks could go. ALL the books are coming with eventually which is ridiculous too. i will thin some of them out, of course. I sorted out some of the paper stuff. Here's the miraculous thing. The paper was in a cardboard box in a wettish basement for fourteen years and it's a) not mildewed b) not mice eaten. I still have to do more down there.

But Dad is driving us nuts. He thinks we can turn this house around and sell it in weeks. It could take MONTHS just to get it in mom and Lucky Uncle's names. He doesn't get that he has NO say in this. It wasn't his mother. He's being unsurprisingly a complete asshole about this. Pretty soon mom might just be living there if he keeps this up. What he needs to keep in mind is that this house has been in the family for NINETY-SEVEN years. Lucky Uncle is having issues with getting it ready as is Mom. And if it cost 5 grand to keep this house around per year that is not his concern. He doesn't want them to try to sell the contents just leave them in the house. It's like just stop being an asshole about this. My cousins and my brother might want something of grandma's. Give us time to get there and take it (I took some pots and pans AND a rolling pin from the mental hospital where she worked). See, he never had to deal with this when his mother died because his brother moved into the house.

So instead of more bitching have some Celtic music.
