Bob Evans Farm Fest
Oct. 11th, 2015 10:55 pmSo I made three festivals in three days. My wallet weeps. My credit cards melted. And frankly today I was a little annoyed that most did NOT want to take credit. Okay who has that much cash on them? In this day and age especially? I guess that saved me money in the long run. (Do check out the links, lots of cool stuff)
Bob fest is of course right next door to the university so it wasn't a far drive for once. And it's only 5$ to get in so there's that. TONS of crafts/jewelry/food. I visited my usual haunts but this time I bought no jewelry except one piece for mom and mostly because I needed to go over the credit card limit (i.e. they wouldn't run it until you hit 20$). i got her a Santa necklace. Mom loves Santa. Got her another ornament, blue glass. For that matter I got her a green glass bud vase from Catherine Tietz Boring. I get something from Ms Boring for Mom every year (oh what a name).
From Starfire Farms I got sweet pepper jelly. It's delicious stuff. Got Mom some too. If you want something a little different, most of their stuff is tasty food. I also got two kinds of honey from Moody farms where I usually get mine. YUM. And I know I know I'm not supposed to have sugar but I DID buy a maple sugar cotton candy because I only get it once a year and it's maple freaking sugar cotton candy (also Kanda leaped up and sneaked a bite of mine, bastard).
I love the local coffee provider (all fair trade) Silver Bridge Coffee. They have a new one Ethiopian Yirgacheffe which was fruity and light. Loved it. Bought two bags. And found a new tea provider in Gallipolis A Pup and a Cup Tea Company. Sadly neither have a coffee/tea shop. I got some tea, like I needed more.
I got some holiday gifts and one of them was a cat nip jean bean bag for my brother's cats. Kanda hates catnip. Until today. He stole the damn thing and ran off with it. Guess it's his now.
I also bought from Circa Plants. They do nothing but heirloom plants. I'm a seed keeper so these are great. Sadly no mint. I wanted mint. I want to do mint studies.
Capped it off with some cider and sadly no open air cooked bean soup. They sold out.
I tried to make Kanda play. This was the result.
The dragon has matured.
My new ring
Mom told me it's now hers.
My jewelry from yesterday.
Jana’s writing news here such as it is.
And in bad news, Lucky Uncle's wife fell in the basement. Had to call 911. They're not sure anything is cracked. Will have to go back for another X-ray (cracks are often invisible immediately and only show when healing). She can hardly move.
