We decided to cook a lot of the things today so tomorrow will be less tiring. Why we need three kinds of potatoes and two kinds of stuffing and three different veggies for FIVE people I don't know but dammit we have it. And pies. And rolls. And pumpkin roll. And god knows what else.

My brother put in a brief appearance to get a roaster for his Thanksgiving. I asked about the hip but he wouldn't answer. Whatever.


I could use some help. I want a nickname sort of a slur really for the Merchanter class that Kaleo could use, sort of the thing you'd call the Kardashians behind their backs, more for their ridiculous wealth and not their total lack of redeeming qualities and greed. (okay greed would count). Suggestions?


Other than that I spent the day researching Deadwood and proving to Dad that yes Google Earth has a mistake. Every casino address takes you to the same place at the base of the hill. You have to walk your way up. It has changed so much since my days there. Luckily I could remember the names from my novel research 20 years ago and was able to walk from there to some info online. I'm still surprised at the lack of attention.

I just wish my enthusiasm for the story hadn't ebbed. Sigh.

And apparently there is much agita in the m/m romance world again. Someone I know was plaguarized. I mean word for word with just names changed. Not even an attempt made to obsfucate it. Shakes head. Not sure how anyone thinks they can do that these days. The other agita seems to be using 'fake' names on FB and on novels.

WHY suddenly using a pen name is SOOOOOO bad I can't guess. Yes many people do. It's a thing. It's not a new thing. What I think happened is people are pretending to be things they aren't or a sex they aren't. it used to be you had to use a man's name to do gay romance but that's not been the case in at least 15 years. I'm not sure what lie got this all stirred up but my entire FB last night was covered with thisis really me posts. I refuse to play along. I'm not justifying my choices to anyone. I don't see why anyone should have to. If you don't like me not using my actual name, well no one pays me any mind anyhow so moot point really.



Nano snippet - Aneurin and his brother talking about Kaleo. “Well, that’s not what I was expecting at all.” Rhisart shook his head. “Damn, Pherick royally screwed you over, Aneurin. Your Toy had a very good point. He’s not going to just expire in a decade or two like a pet.”

“I know. I really do want to find him work planet-side. There is always something that needs doing. It’s not like I can even put him on our freighter ships, not without being a citizen.” Aneurin drained his drink, debating getting more alcohol. “What happens to old Toys, Rhisart? I’ve never even thought about it. How bad is that? The only person I know well who has one is Yaara and she treats Nadja like a real person.”

“I don’t know. It probably isn’t good. I guess they sell them or send them back. I think the middle class folk buy them used. Ask Yaara. She might know.”

Aneurin huffed, staring at his empty glass. “I need more alcohol to get through this day.”
