When she mentioned that it was unusual for me to have a nice sunny day to drive home on. Today was my usual grey drizzly drive. It must have poured since I had to empty the car in about an inch of mud. I didn't have much to unload luckily since I left a ton of stuff in PA since I'll be back there by mid-December.
I'm thinking of going back to Athens tomorrow for the night of writing dangerously to support my friends and maybe to kick that damn Deadwood story into overdrive. Sadly I have no DVR yet which means I'll have to find Gotham's finale on line. head desk
Kanda was not happy about having to return here. He originally wasn't. I almost chucked him at Aunt S2 to help with her mice problems. However, she has this old victorian with too many places to hide and/or get into trouble in.
I was going to write something for writerly ways but I didn't. But here, have another nano snippet. I'll post my last one tomorrow but if you like what you've seen I'll definitely need betas.
nano snippet (still at that same party from yesterday) - “Leaving already, Aneurin. I was just coming to talk to you about your new acquisition.” Jurryt nodded toward Kaleo. “In spite of his obvious lack of training, he's a fine looking specimen if you like that sort of thing.” He kissed the cheek of the female Toy with him. The other must be off getting them something.
“I do hope the embarrassing way your Toy carries himself has nothing to do with the reason you didn't stay long,” Verlio said, fishing a wand out of his pocket. “My controller can synch with any of the inducers. I can bring him to heel.”
“Don't you dare.” Aneurin caught the man's wrist, spinning him away. As they moved, he heard a high pitched whine and fire lanced across his forearm. Verlio shrieked, his hand disintegrating.
Another laser blast hit right next to where Aneurin had been standing but Kaleo yanked him away, dragging him around the corner of a half-way laden with drink and food. Kaleo forced Aneurin to the ground, tackling him. Aneurin struggled as the crowd erupted into screams.
“Stay the fuck down,” Kaleo growled. “This ain't much of a shelter to start with.”
“But he was hurt...”
“He's a fucking Toymaker. Serves him right. Someone probably wanted him dead.
