Hello. Who am I? I am multitudes. In the real world, I was once a foot and ankle surgeon until an injury derailed my life. Now I'm a biology professor training the next generation of health care professionals. I'm also a published author, mostly right now LGBT romance but it's something I'm fazing out of. (the romance that is. I was never that gung-ho with it and I feel like I've done most of what I can there). I hope to be writing urban fantasy/SF/F and some steampunk, some adult, some YA in the future.

I've been active in fandoms since the 1970s (briefly) and got into it full bore in the 80s and I've never looked back. I am very much a geek, the queen of them according to my students who know where to find me by my geeked out office. I'm a cosplayer and active in the steampunk world.

I love to hike and travel and most of my pictures will be of places I've been.

I love animals, cats especially, gardening and music. Oh do I love music. I'm a good cook but only a beginning baker. I don't have the patience.

Reading materials - mystery, urban fantasy, fantasy and SF are my favorites, horror's good too (notice the one I'm writing in doesn't even make the cut. Sigh)

Fandoms: My most active and newest is Prodigal Son. In a year I wrote over 100 stories, three of which are novel length (I have no idea how!), my other biggest ones are Buffy the Vampire Slayer -Angel the series and Fullmetal Alchemist. Others (which don't seem to plot bunny me as much) include Lucifer, The X-Files, Star Trek (all of them and literally this is my FIRST fandom but for some reason I never get long stories from it), Blue Exorcist, Vinland Saga, Saiyuki and well a literal host of anime/manga.

I'm open to questions so feel free to ask. Pull up a seat and stay awhile.

So I'm already two books into the Popsugar challenge because I decided that this year close enough isn't just for horseshoes and grenades. the challenge started feeling constrictive last year but I pulled 20 out of 50 off my shelves in under an hour that matched the prompts and if that's all I get of it this year, that's fine too. One of them barely fits the prompt but close enough. As is the one I'm working o n now

BUT I have a question for you all. The theme this year for the advanced challenge (10 books there) is your TBR pile. I am shocked at how many people lost their mind about that. How dare they assume I have a TBR pile? I'm like if you're willing to do a challenge that involves reading 50 books, do you REALLY not have a TBR pile.

So my friends, do YOU have a TBR pile? Mine costs me 40$/month, well in part. (my decorations are out there too)

I said this on twitter the other day. I can easily DNF library books but when I put out money for it, I can't DNF. I guess it's because I paid for it. I'm working on one right now if it wasn't for the challenge, if it wasn't for the money I'd probably have tossed it but in this cozy the would be sleuth just questioned if the police knew how to run a test to see if it was the seafood allergies or if it was poison. Um...Also the detective was taken off the case for being a 'drama queen' but the only thing we saw him do was question people in the dining room when the death occurred. This feels like something that should have been edited.
