Writerly Ways
Jul. 11th, 2021 06:32 pmManaging your emotions is sometimes a thing we all have to do especially as an author. I admit it. I occasionally get jealous when I see a bad series being a best seller, winning awards, getting a tv series.... Of course sometimes it's a me thing. Just because I don't like it doesnt mean it's bad. Other times it IS bad and you are baffled. Case in point I just finished book two in a series that meets all the above requirements and yet gave me an ending that resolved a child kidnapping by a child molester and a married couple (a wife in hock to loan sharks and a husband desperate to save her) with the wife dead, our hero letting the husband go because he didn't really want to be there and buying the silence of the pedophile by promising him a child to rape before he's hung.
In reality she'd providing him a lesbian (for some reason) prostitute who looks 12 and this woman loves sleeping with the condemned (which probably makes her bi and insane but whatever) If you want to know what book I just spoiled look right here
I don't even know where to process the emotions something like this stirs up. What it should do is spur me to write more and try harder. On the other hand I find it baffling and it takes the wind from my sails.
