Yeah the closest I came to anything in the way of celebration was eating some Doritos. Today was LONG. SO long. It was four hours of soaking in dissection fumes and then off to the coffee house and the gym.

I need to figure out what I'm eating/drinking there that's making me sick. I never made it to the gym. Picked up brisket so I didn't have to cook later and all I did today was grade. And write. Like a lot. Like a 4K day. Would be nice if it is was original but no.... it was this dumb thing

I have to say it was a pretty good day with a hint of bittersweet. I'm also glad my steampunk group did not come to this. It was about four vendors and some food. Not bad for me coming down since I'm relatively close (20 miles vs 40). It definitely needed more but it's the first attempt and not a bad one. For that matter the railroad museum hosting it is also new and...tiny, that's the generous answer. It's mostly some tools inside an old and not very interesting train station and a big toy train display. Outside, however, as three train cars they want to fix up including on old circus one where the acrobats living while the circus traveled.

So it all has potential but it has a long way to go. I did get to talk to the guys who are doing a gaming con at my university. Also saw some neat jewelry but didn't buy anything. I DID get a little spock patch keychain for mom for mother's day and one for me that says no rest for the weird. I'm not sure either of us will use it as a keychain but it IS a patch so who knows what I might do with it.

From there I went to Huntington to Free Comic Book Day. And for once Hillbilly Hotdog WASN'T packed. I haven't been able to go for the better part of a year because it's been so crowded I couldn't park. I was so excited I got two dogs (which was one dog too many according to my stomach but oh so good!)

I picked up so many free comics, plus my pull list which is getting spare and I NEED desperately to start reading to see if I want to even get these. I also need to find an online review site or something so I know what new comics are coming out etc. There were so many Number 1 issues this time but I have no idea what they're about (it's not like they have blurbs) and they're too expensive to just buy as samples. Ah well.

From there I went to Macy's got some clearance jogging pants (so I can toss out my old ones but they're not heavy ones...) and a pair of jeans with embroidered flowers on them. Yeah I know they'll be dated fast and some people will say I'm too 'old' for them but I like them.

Homegoods yielded a medium sized sauce pot I needed plus something I've never heard of, a British import Monty Bojangles Scrumple nutty and they were good...so good. I needed to have bought them all. Ah well.

Chili's was a disappointment and expensive (I wasn't feeling the Mexican this time and there aren't a lot of options other than chains around this mall) Usually I ask about the price of cocktails but I deserved a celebration cocktail after this semester. Turns out it was MORE money than the fucking sandwich. Yikes. I did get a blackberry patron. It was so good, so sweet, so tasted like I needed a pitcher.

One thing that makes me smile about this mall is Books a Million is never empty. There are always tons of people in there buying books. I bought two new to me manga (also the book store should always keep #1 of a manga series there because so many sounded cool but didn't have #1. I've read a little of one expensive mistake, a BL manga that is just sexy nonsense. Ah well. It's not awful but it's not worth the price so far.

The bittersweet is I was exhausted, as in barely able to get up on the porch exhausted. Now I didn't sleep well and I DID eat a lot of sugar (half a bag of kettle corn can't hurt, right?) so maybe that's it but I'm also worried it's more me feeling my age and that's depressing. I can do without the reminders more than half my life is behind me but I also know they're inevitable.

Rocket welcomed me with ticks. Many ticks. Sigh.

I also came home to one of my orders here already (ahead of the other which was mailed first) That was fun.

Know what? I need some Owl House icons (I almost put tattoo there. Though truthfully I've been thinking about my scar tattoos though that's much more likely to be star trek than owl house, and occasionally Roy's array pops to mind but I don't like the salamander)
