I know a lot of people who have dreams worthy of being stories (ELD, Betty looking at you). I am not often that person. I try to be. I go to sleep every night trying to do directed dreaming especially when it comes to my stories. It has almost never worked. I could probably count on one hand how many times I think directed dreaming has worked for me. Let’s look at last night’s dreams.
First I was with B and R (friends from med school) and their kids and we had just landed our space craft in a field. Somehow I had left behind my purse somewhere. I’m not sure where. It doesn’t matter. I’m still shocked that I wasn’t thrilled like B&R over our space flight. No I’m worried about my damn purse. What? Did I leave it on Mars?
From there the dream morphed to me walking down the driveway. I ended up at the bottom when a small black cat came up to me and I picked him up. He had blood red eyes. I took him up to the house but Mom wouldn’t let me keep him. What? No one wants the devil cat?
Neither of these are story worthy though I suppose the cat could be the start of something. I’m disappointed in my dreaming self.
I’m also hoping that this huge (stinging) dent in my bad leg was just because of the edge of the towel it was resting against and not something bad happening from me trying to stretch through the adhesions today
