cornerofmadnessIn 1965 a UFO theoretically went down in Kecksburg PA. Today I went to the Kecksburg UFO festival. This is about 50 miles from the parentals home and mom went with me.
She is expecting 20 people. I'm expecting hundreds (It was closer to a thousand). It has been beautiful the last two days. Today was 90+ again. I honestly thought they said there would be talks. If there were, it wasn't announced in anyway. So basically it was a packed arts and crafts show. Also the parking was poorly marked. they had ONE parking lot marked and it was filled. I was cranked off after driving that far so I went exploring turned out there was one before it (unmarked and a bit far) and one right across from it, large and had room (we got there when it started mind you)
So everything was UFO and cryptid themed for the most part. I liked the vendors a lot. There were things I wanted to get but restrained myself. I do regret forgetting to go back for the alien head wine stopper with glow in the dark eyes. (because classy). There was so much stuff to see. The other thing I regret passing on was the aprons with To Serve Men (from Twilight Zone) and the one with an alien chasing a John Deere saying eat locally. I saw a few paranormal investigators I know.
I did buy a Nessie plushie and UFOs abducting a cow earrings. Mom got some alien jerky. Ha. One of the favorite things I saw, the dude in the parking lot with the a pull along coffin. Also I did get a picture of the famous acorn statue (it's what the UFO was meant to look like)
The GPS didn't want to get us home. It wanted to go down a closed road. I wish you could tell them that so they'd pick a new route. Had to stop for directions.
