okay I'm almost done with getting classes ready for monday...only today a student comes in and wants a directed study with me (which is okay except he wants a 3 hour one and these are usually 1 hour and he basically wants physiology but can't take it on tuesday...) I knew this. I thought he meant next semester. No, this one. You wait until now??? Sigh. If the head of the dept. will go for it, I will. It's no skin off my nose. It's a med-school aimed class and it's in my interests so fine.

now onto the pics.

The first two are from the Leo Petroglyphs near me. Fort Ancient indians, they think... personally since there's a fire pit in the middle of them I'm thinking a hunting camp of drunk, happy ancient hunters sketching away...

A ‘ghost’

A ‘happy face?’

Looking at these Russian black tomatoes makes me wonder what's in my ground...or if that Indian curse is for real freaks

And from Beaver Cemetery

Fancy

check out the chest on this one. It looks like he's been shot Bleeding statue

You don't often see dogs in funerary art so I always like to snap them when I see them
doggies

And the one you wanted to see, the one they tried to make look like Jesus' tomb

I know Madge, let’s bury ourselves ala Joseph of Arithemea

Sanctity of the grave is all well and good but I'm too curious to not put my hand through the broken window to see what's inside Eternal Rest? Bah

Like I said the name 'Leaf' is the only marker on the tomb but several of these stylized leaves can be found on it Leaf

I just thought her face was too sweet Flower Girl

The last pic has been moved!

I'm always amazed when I see art like this. It always makes me realize that they weren't Indians or Egyptians or Cro Magnons. They were people.

My hubby and I already have our gravestones with everything but the date of death on it. We had our mastiffs' heads inscribed on it, and we'll be buried in a pioneer cemetery on the Oregon coast overlooking the ocean.

It's the only ocean-view property we could afford.

no it hasn't. That's just photobucket being an ass. Sigh.

Hey you take ocean front property any way you can get it. I wanted to buy my coffin now and get some use out of it while I'm alive

Why not? And you would make sure that you are buried in the style you want to be acoffined to.

*eh. Bad joke. Too much beer to make good jokes; not enough to make great ones.*

You know, if you added those tomatoes to your class lecture visuals and called them (invent a name) tumors, I bet not one of your students would question it. They sure don't look like fruit.

The Jesus tomb: Devotion, or hubris? It's hard to decide. That's one massive rock, though.
