Want to stab my knitting needles in my ears so I no longer have to listen to their stupidity any more. So I accomplished jackshit nothing today because I spent most of the afternoon on the phone with Verizon trying to figure out why all of the sudden I’m constantly going over my 5 gig limit. They have no reason. Fine so can you put me on the 10 Gig limit for 80$ like you keep talking to me about. And hey, could it be someone piggybacking on my broad band that is causing this issue.


At first customer service is all helpful. Sure we can do that. We can even back date it for this month so you don’t get an overage bill. Twenty minutes of her diddling around she finally says oops no we can’t do that. Why not?

Verizon – Because we have new products and packages out and you don’t have a new broadband.

Me – so what? It’s not as if the broadband is only good for 5 gig. It’ll run and run. YOU decide where to set the limit, not the device.

Verizon – We can’t do it. But here I’ll send you to tech support to find out about the whole why are you going thru a month’s allotment in 2 weeks.

Me – whatever, fine.

Tech support comes on and I go thru the whole spiel again. Why isn’t it connecting for more than one bar anymore? Why from 2009-2011 I never went over but since 2012 I go over every month when I’ve changed nothing. Hell I can’t even get on most Facebook games because the coverage sucks. Tell me why after 20 minutes I couldn’t download more than half a PowerPoint that was 4000kb? WHY DO YOU SUCK?

Verizon – We see no real reason for this to be going so fast. You must be using it too much. No one can piggyback the signal (Oh I’m sure they can frankly. I know it’s not encrypted). Wouldn’t tell me how to either.
Me – fine, so can YOU get me the 80$ deal.

Tech support – sure I can…ten minutes later. No I can’t. You can buy the 4 G and get on that program but they won’t let me do that until next cycle ma’am so that won’t help you now.

Me – fine, if I get this 4 G will it constitute a new 2 year program?

Tech support – no, only if you get a new device.

Me – they told me that 4 g devices don’t have an antennae and I can’t get reception here.

TS = who told you that?

Me – YOU GUYS!

TS- They have one with antennae. But first let’s get you relief for this month. Finally he dinks around and puts me on the share everything plan.

Me – what’s this? And is it a new contract?

TS _ no and it’s for broadband + phone

Me – I don’t want your cell phones

TS – No, I know but this is the only way it’ll let me back date the order and pretend you have it now.

Me – Um so you can’t pretend I have a 4 G device but you CAN pretend I have a cell phone. WTF?

TS – Yes and its 120$ (which is cheaper than an overage because I’m already at my limit as of this afternoon). But they want 2 months’ worth because it’s a new program.

Me – um, isn’t there a way to get the 80$ package? Seriously?

TS – Yes but you have to get the 4 g and we can’t do it until next month. That won’t let me back date it

ME – so to repeat, you can’t overnight me a 4g device and backdate the whole system but you can pretend I have a cell phone.

TS –yes

ME – fine, whatever. So you’re sure it will work with an antennae?

TS – Yes and goes on to describe how it works.

Me – so do you need to send an adaptor? Last time you guys sent the wrong one and broke the broad band

TS- I think it should work. (I read off the adaptor # so he can check) yes, I think that works.

Me – (so reassuring) fine, sign me up.

TS – Its 80$ for the new broadband device but you get a 30$ discount.

Me…..

TS – And since you’re getting a device at a discount, it’s a new 2 year contract.

ME- What? I Just ASKED you that and you said no

TS – Because that was a program but this is a new device.

ME – head desk. No, let me think about it and I’ll let you know before the new billing cycle

TS – But there’s a 2 week trial period and you can send it back if it doesn’t work right.

ME – so, no charge for that

TS- Well there is a 35$ restocking fee.

ME – I’m not paying you 35$ to put it back on the shelf. You hold onto it and let me decide. He then tried to tell me why I should do it now, I mentioned I don’t want a new contract because I want to move (true) well you can take us with you. No sir, I spend more time on the phone to Verizon customer service than I do talking to my relatives. Bite me.

So probably 120$ later I have the other program, enough to get me through the week. I immediately took out the trash and went to the landlord’s house and said ‘can I play on your internet?’ because they have the local guy (which seems to be working on a grant by the state to bring internet to poor rural Appalachia). His wife gladly showed me everything. It worked good enough. I’ll call them tomorrow. And hopefully I can retire the Verizon sucks tag.

Other than that I seriously did jack today other than grocery shop. There’s a rumor Kroger’s might discontinue the double coupons. NO. Waaah. Hope it’s a rumor. I got out of there for 62$ down from 95. I need my double coupons. I didn’t even get to work much on my paper because of the whole Verizon thing taking all afternoon, making my migraine worse.

And the other day evil_little_dog asked 'does that neighbor still have the schnauzer?' Me no I think it moved away wait maybe. So last night I forgot to turn on the music when I went to take a bath and the whole time all I heard was that fucking dog. And all day today too since I had everything off so I could talk to the idiots
