I was afraid of this
Jul. 18th, 2011 09:41 pmBorders is now closing all stores. One news article held my greatest fear in all of this Publishers said with Borders gone, they would plan for smaller print runs and shipments. Yeah, that's just it. Online is great but people do not browse online the way they do in stores (witness what happened to the music industry once record stores closed). It almost feels like why bother writing. Oh, because it's in me and I have to but the buying online is going to change books forever and I'm thinking not in the best of ways. I have yet to find an easy to navigate site and I get pissed off about 3 minutes into trying to browser them and give up, having bought nothing.
I've also learned I don't mind ereader commericals that atoll the benefits of ereaders. I DO mind greatly when they try to make you look like an idiot for wanting a book. I've yet to find an ereader that didn't hurt my eyes, kindle being the worst offender.
I took Roy to the vet. It must have been a painful visit. I can't even aim a camera at his neck. Once shaved up the lesion is pretty evenly round. She thinks (and I had that thought myself) he got warbled. A warble or bot fly larva probably chewed his way out of Roy's neck. He got antibiotic shots and now I have the liquid amoxicillin. Have I mentioned Roy is a master of spitting? Roy -1 antibiotics -0. He managed to get a measly 1 1/2 ml of fluid on my arm, my clothes, my leg, my foot and the carpet. I swear it magnified in his mouth. the vet was stunned by Soul's behavior and had no suggestions
I think i might have hurt the bad arm. The pain is increasing steadily oddly NOT at the site where they moved the tendon but where they cut out the bursa and the collar bone which should be much better by now. also touched my levator scapula (shoulder muscle) and about went thru the roof. will tell PT's tomorrow.
Also the last two days have been utterly miserable here. Even though yesterday more and this morning it was in the 70's it was like walking into a sauna. It felt like someone was dragging a wet veil over my face. It's raining but it's supposed to be BAD. if they cancel school again tomorrow I'm gonna be pissed.
