Fate has a sense of humor
Aug. 20th, 2014 11:13 pmAs I started the car up with Mom all teary about not wanting me to leave after so long, THIS is the song on the radio.
Before I forget, Happy Birthday to
wildrider. Hope it was a great day.
It was supposed to rain all the way here. At 1:30 the thunder/lightning rolled in. At 6:00AM we all thought the house had been hit. The Earth exploding couldn't have had more light and sound. Didn't sleep much. But after 10 AM there was no rain and I made it down here. The arm is sore. The apartment looks like ass and smells about the same.
The neighbor who waits for me and pops out to talk to me whenever he sees me walk past his window caught me before I even made it to my porch. He informed me they were keeping a new kitten for me. A black one. It's adorable. but WHY? I'm not here to solve all your cat problems.
He also told me something I didn't expect. I told Mom last week I couldn't escape the thought my apartment had burned down. She said 'call LL' I didn't. He told me B-3 burned (and I'm D-3).
And I have to clean more than I probably can tomorrow because after 3 months the shower head's mechanism is frozen and I can't turn it on but I can't get into the bath because I can't get out with my arm out of commission. Also I couldn't wash my hair that way. Head desk. At least the internet is working.
On my porch was one of the books I had won from Goodreads. It's sun faded. WTF? I had my mail forwarded then held so why oh why is this on my porch?? At least the book is okay. I need to remove at least another 300 books from this place so it looks less like hell so what do I do? I get more.
And I have great news as Jana here (If you don't want to read it all, I sold another story).
Reading Meme - What I've just finished reading - surprisingly nothing.
What I'm reading now Cursed in the Act, a historical mystery told by a stage manager Harry Rivers. His boss? Bram Stoker. It's different, that's for sure.
What I plan to read That one I just won. City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett.
