Writerly Ways
Dec. 11th, 2016 09:53 pmI tried to be busy today but I was so damn tired. I did finally get my winter clothes out and clean up the bedroom mostly. That's a plus.
Most of my writerly ways is over here. tonight. Where I talk about my two new projects that have leapt up and grabbed me by the throat. It's a chance to get in on something from the beginning if you'd like to read and be a sounding board.
If you don't go over there at least have the collector's card for my upcoming story Corpse Dust. Meet Tsela Zahni, Navajo airshipman done by Lex Chase.

My only other writerly thought is that without the competition and structure of something like Nanowrimo, I don't write, I just drift and piss about and I need to figure out a way to fix my head.
And since I've been lax on putting up ES's links, here see what she's been sending me. Some are really good.
Here's something I wish I had done recently with those two publications coming out. creating an author newsletter
5 archetypes that can steal the hero's spotlight
extreme heroes
make your writing come alive
evaluating small press publishers
self editing checklist some of this calls for apps I've never heard of
The dread editorial letter and trust me these ARE painful (still scarred from the one who wrote 3 pages calling me a racist for all the times I referred to Agni's dark skin (5 times in a 340 page novel).
common writing errors
on editing - less is more
And music for Day 12 of advent is a hymn, one of my favorite hymns, granted I don't have many. I'm not really that into religious music but I have always loved this one. I also love Peter Hollens who does much of his work singing a cappella. He also does tons and tons of geeky covers which is fun. In this one he's accompanied by an a cappella country band called Home Free. I don't really know them but this makes me want to go looking for more.
