Another day surrounded by dead bodies
Dec. 13th, 2016 12:04 amAnd I couldn't be happier. My friend, the ML of my nano group wanted to bring her daughter to the Bodies exhibit and I said I'd go with them if they wanted as a personal docent. Naturally they wanted me to. The exhibit will be leaving shortly but I wanted to see it one last time anyhow. They had a very good time. It's such a great exhibit and it's nice to be there with people who have questions and are excited to learn.
Also in today's good news, check out my post here. . Love Wins released today and I have a story in it. All proceeds go to help the Pulse shooting victims from earlier this year so all the money goes to a good cause. Check it out!
My evening was less exciting thanks to work shit I don't want to go into and my own growing depression and fears. On Saturday I knew I had forgotten something for Tuesday. I KNEW I had something to do but couldn't remember. I even posted on facebook 'hey who am I supposed to be meeting?' no one answered. Luckily I ran into the Ochem prof at the restaurant we went to after the bodies exhibit. He reminded me of it. I'm supposed to be doing field trip exhibitions for middle school students all day tomorrow. I prepped the lab on Thursday. In the space of 48 hours I forgot that entirely. I KNOW if I hadn't met TH in the China One I would not have shown up. I find this horrifying. It's not like I forgot something minor scheduled weeks back. I forgot this big thing in a matter of two days. It was gone leaving only the aggravation of knowing there was something I was meant to be doing. To me this feels like more than mere aging but I've nailed ever cognition test I've taken. I just don't know.
In happier notes have Day 12's musical advent pick. I think the first selection my friend, Flippy ever sent to me from John 5 was 2Die 4 but I could be wrong. I will say it's the one I remember being impressed with. He's not someone I would have come across on my own. He was the guitarist for Marilyn Manson and now for Rob Zombie and I'm not usually a fan of music that hard and screamy. John's skill with a guitar has few rivals if you ask me. He plays across musical genres (though I'm not featuring that here) and he seems like a genuinely nice guy based on things FLippy has told me after meeting him several times post-concert.
So here is the first song I remember
and here is something from this year. John seems to really like old monster flicks (and his bassist is practically a kid and still excellent).
