They are responsive to questions and ask me some in return (all three of my four that is).

Geek moment of the day. Since I'm across campus teaching and I haven't gotten into the habit yet of bringing my laser pointer/slide advancer doo dad, one of my students gave me her laser pointer for her cat. Which had a picture of Yu Kanda on it and I sqeeed and said 'KANDA! I love him. I named my cat after him.' Now she thinks I'm the coolest professor ever.

I'm in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position. Today I came running in and the secretary (the same one who didn't bother to look at the student numbers in my class and didn't assign me a big enough room) asks why am I running. 'Because I have 10 minutes between classes and you put me in a building all the way across campus.'
Her response? 'well maybe you should learn to budget your time better. Other people do it.'

I about lost it. One SHE is the one who messed this up and she's the reason I have ten minutes to transverse all of campus. What am I supposed to do? Tell students who have questions after class, sorry I need to budget my time so I can't help you. I had three minutes to make the trip today. So am I supposed to be 5 minutes late for my one class every day or let the other class out 5 minutes early?

I didn't address that comment but part of me really wants to talk to the chair and dean about this. It's bad enough she screwed me over but to have her hurling insults at me over it really is over the top. Ever since they moved her to part time in my dept and part time in administration she's been making mistake after mistake because there's too much to do. They need to put her one place or the other and hire someone.
Because the real loser here is the students.


Let's see if I can get imgur to work. I think I've embedded an album but who knows. I need a 'picture or avatar' for this new publisher. I LOATHE pictures of me and with where I work, the least recognizeable I am on a LGBT friendly site the better. I know it doesn't look 'professional' (points to my last statement) but I don't have an avatar.

I'm not too recongizeable with the long wig, hat and goggles but then I was playing with lunapic. I made a couple of fun 'artworks' that could be avatars. Though the lines of hair and my aging skin made for VERY hard lines in a lot of the filters so it looked horrible. The one with the space looks fun though. What do you guys think (I need to send in in ASAP), mostly about the unfiltered one I suppose.

ETA: Nope, nothing I do allows me to share these stupid imgur pictures. I know dragonydreams told me once but I seem to have lost that. Screw you photobucket, you were so easy to use until you messed it all up.

ETA 2 - also nothing on imgur looks anything like the tutorial and within minutes I had people commenting on the albumn I put up so I deleted the whole damn thing. I can't see how to upload just a picture to my OWN spot and not out into the public galleries so I'm obviously not understanding something but like i said the tutorial must be for an older version...
