But before I get into that I bet you're wondering what fuckery happened to Dana today. Well let me tell you. Last night when I went to bed to read a bug was on my arm. I went to shoo him off. He flew into my mouth and I had to taste him. After that he had to die.

Today I went to town after 6 items from Kroger's, my interlibrary loan book and my meds. Came out of Kroger's with six bags of groceries (go me), got the book and the meds. Stopped at my local coffee house which was even SLOWER than usual (which is pretty turtly) and they gave me iced coffee instead of a hot mocha. They forgot to ask and I forgot to specify and I was not going to ask them to redo it. At least it only had a little ice (my biggest bitch about iced coffee is you pay 5$ just like the hot coffee and you get a huge ass glass of ice and no coffee).

I get home and put away my meds which I did check to see if I had everything. Well I didn't look in the individual bags and for some reason they gave me vial insulin and not the pens. Furious I call. Well the pharmacy back home didn't send my usual pen insulin. I don't know why, maybe it was expired. Instead they sent it, not from the nursing home which used pens, but from the HOSPITAL back in March. CVS has agreed to exchange it (I hope they made notes) so now I have to go back to town (15 miles) tomorrow. Oh well. I'll just go to the Y while I'm there.

So fannish stuff. I've been seeing some backlash again the live action Cowboy Bebop over Faye's outfit. Apparently a whole lot of misogynistic, probably INCEL fanboys are annoyed she's not dressed like a hooker with balloon boobs and a six inch waist. It's been so loud and bad (I'll link you if you want) that I'm actively reminding myself not all men in fandom suck.

I've also been seeing a lot of backlash against the upcoming Spiderman movie about how out of character it would be for Dr. Strange to magically change the world 'because a teenager asked him to.' My favorite rebuff of this was the person who posted a gif of Strange rotting an apple as he played with time. Yeah not so OOC. However, let's unpack this a little.

This is not just any teenager. Peter and Strange fought, died and resurrected together. They are comrades at arms. Setting that aside and at the risk of spoiling the ending of Far From Home (which I hated that ending) Peter's secret identity has been exposed and he's been accused of murder. He is at risk. Everyone he loves is at risk from Aunt May to MJ to Ned. The danger here is real from super villains to normal people angry of Mysterio. Canonically we have what happened to Tony when he outed himself as Iron Man. He lost his home and nearly lost Pepper.

Strange isn't caving to the whims of a teen. He's saving lives. And let's face it, he's an arrogant douche (I still love you Stephen) It's too dangerous to do this? Yeah, I can handle it. I'm still on the fence actually about this movie (Having Strange in it helps me) because I didn't like that epilogue in the last movie but I'm sure I'll see it eventually.


Speaking of fannish things, I was looking on my work computer for something and saw a folder with my name on it. I opened it and it turns out it was full of stories. I don't know if this was back when I had a floppy disc drive at work and I pulled off all my old files or when a website that still had my Buffy stories on it) One of the stories was a Dawn/COnnor Deep Blue Sky. I didn't remember it (not surprising, I'm prolific and forgetful) I printed it out. It was for the multifandom lyric ficathon. It's NOT finished. It would have been very rare I didn't finish something I was writing for someone else. I looked on the home computer. There is no file for this (so Dana go bring those files HOME) It's not on FFN. I have to assume I didn't finish or if I did it was somewhere else, probably long gone but I put almost everything that didn't contain sex on FFN and even if it did, I edited those scenes out. (I never did write too many pwps) It is curious to me. I guess I have another one for wipbigbang for next year.

And like a yutz, I looked at the Whumptober prompts and now I'm writing something for it as if I had time.
