Not that 54 will feel much different. I'm not really in the mood to celebrate. Mom's got an eye doctor appointment. Hopefully Dad will be outside working (since the last few days were gorgeous weather wise) and Mom's bringing home Chinese from a restaurant we never tried before. Ah well.

Trade magazines and blogs are really noticing the Save Prodigal Son push. The petition is now over 49K signatures as you can see here. Too bad they didn't mention the twitter campaign too. So hope is still out there. That would be a nice birthday present...

Author’s Notes and warnings: This was written for the Unconventional Courtship challenge 2021 where you use a romance book blurb as inspiration. You can find my chosen blurb in the end notes. This is a historical Prodigal Son AU. I tried to give it some historical accuracy but didn’t do a deep dive on it (just not enough time to do it). There are some mentions of the racism in the late 1880s-1890s in regards to Dani, JT, Gil and Edrisa but I didn’t dwell on it trying to keep the light romantic feel of the story. (Also, I know JT would not have served in the same army corps with Malcolm or even Gil and doesn’t have much hope of being in the constabulary as is mentioned in the story unfortunately). I also know very little about fencing so take the fencing exhibitions with a grain of salt and forgive the mistakes.
